Over the past few weeks we've shared some spotlights on some of our favourite supplements. We were asked "why?" and naturally, we know if one person asks, there's more who would like the answer!!
1. We don't always have time to eat properly. Just like you, we have a lot going on in our days too- we don't always have time to sit down and eat a proper meal.
2. We KNOW how important it is to get adequate nutrients- this includes macronutrients such as protein, carbohydrates and fats but also includes vitamins and minerals such as magnesium, vitamin D, zinc and more!
3. We have some supplements on hand because they help us avoid overindulging on the things that are meant to be enjoyed in small quantities. Making sure that we have adequate nutrients throughout our day helps us to minimize cravings.
One major thing to note though: while we enjoy our protein supplements (powder and bars) as snacks and meal substitutes or enhancements, we don't just supplement vitamins and minerals based on the fact that they are there or that our friends take them. We work with health professionals, such as naturopaths, functional medicine doctors and nutrition experts to determine what our unique needs are. We highly recommend that you do the same before starting a vitamin/mineral supplement routine.
